Privacy Policy
Effective October 22, 2026
Rebloom helps you cut down and quit smoking on a schedule. We designed it to need as little of your data as possible. Here's exactly what happens to it.
The short version
- Your plan and smoking log are stored on your phone.
- We never ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts or location. There are no accounts.
- No ads, no tracking, no cookies, and we never sell your data.
- Two features send limited data to our server, and only if you turn them on: reminders and Share results.
- You can turn either off and delete what you've shared from inside the app.
1. Data stored on your phone
Everything you enter and log stays in your browser's storage on your device: how much you smoked when you started, your plan length, your usual wake and bed times, each cigarette you log, when you use the app (which Rebloom uses to estimate when you sleep and wake), and your daily allowances.
We can't see this data unless you choose to share it. You can download it anytime (Settings → Export my data) and erase it (Settings → Start over). Deleting the app or clearing your browser data also erases it.
2. Reminders (optional)
If you turn on reminders, your phone's browser gives Rebloom a push address so we can notify you when your next cigarette is allowed, even with the app closed. Our server stores:
- a random ID created on your phone,
- the push address and encryption keys your browser provides,
- the time of your next reminder.
Each time your next reminder changes, your phone sends only the new time. Reminders are delivered through your browser's push service (Apple, Google, Mozilla or Microsoft, depending on your device), and their content is encrypted so the push service can't read it. When you turn reminders off or use "Start over", this record is deleted from our server. It's also deleted automatically if your browser reports that the push address is no longer valid.
3. Share results (optional, off by default)
If you tick "Share results", your phone uploads a copy of your Rebloom data to help us understand what works and improve the app. That includes:
- your starting cigarettes per day, plan length and daily allowances,
- the time of each cigarette you log, and whether it was on schedule,
- your usual sleep and wake times, and Rebloom's estimates of when you actually slept and woke,
- your time zone offset (for example "UTC−5", not your location) and the app version.
It's stored under a random ID that isn't connected to your name, email, device, or your reminders ID. Even so, a detailed log of daily habits is personal information, and we treat it that way.
How we use it: only to study how people use Rebloom and to improve the app. We may publish combined statistics (for example, "average quit time across all users") that don't describe any individual. We don't sell shared results, use them for advertising, or give individual records to third parties.
Your control: untick "Share results" in Settings to stop sending updates. Tap "Delete my shared data" to permanently remove everything you've shared from our server. We keep shared results until you delete them or we no longer need them to improve the app.
4. Where data is stored and how it's protected
Rebloom runs on Cloudflare, which hosts the app and our database in North America. All connections use encryption (HTTPS). Like any website, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We don't store IP addresses in our database.
5. What we don't do
- No advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
- No cookies.
- No selling or renting of data.
- No access to your contacts, photos, location or other apps.
6. Health information
Rebloom is a self-help tool, not a medical device, and it doesn't provide medical advice. Talk to a doctor or pharmacist about quitting, especially about medications such as nicotine replacement or varenicline. Free help is available at 1-800-QUIT-NOW in the US.
7. Age
Rebloom is intended for adults (18 and over). We don't knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If we ever want to use shared results in a new way, we'll ask you first.
9. Contact
Questions or deletion requests: richardtcoffron@gmail.com. Because shared results aren't linked to your name or email, we usually can't find them from a message. The "Delete my shared data" button in Settings is the reliable way to remove them.
